Increase speed and distance with new Wi-Fi

The new Belkin's Pre-N line proves to be the best for performance. Compatability with 802.11g and 802.11b standards it raises the bar for distance as well. Pre-N, which was named for the 802.11n standard, is capable of average transfers of 20mbps from 50 feek away, beating out its father the Belkin G router.

The new Pre-N products gain their performance through a new technology called MIMO. MIMO, which stands for Multiple Input Multiple Output, uses multiple antennas to transfer and recieve data. By using multiple same frequency data streams a peak performance in transfers can be achieved. Most if not all Wi-Fi products on the market now only use a single transfer stream.

Certified 802.11n products probably won't hit the shelves til early 2007
