Cell phones and their features
The new talk of the town is mobile phones with memory. Can your phone play mp3s? Well sure it can but mine can play movies. Back and forth people argue because there are so many choices out there. With the addition of mp3 players on phones by the late Samsung Uproar the race for the most pimped out phone began. The Uproar was a neat little phone. A friend of mine had it and it played enough music to keep you satisfied for a day. I think the reason sales lacked was because of the ugly design. Lets face it. It wasn't the best looking one out at the time. Either way since that time the phone has dramatically changed. Color screens, mp3 players, webphone, cameras, and video messages have all become standards. There are a few models now with a freak'n laptop on the phone. It's gotta really crazy. I mean I like the new gizmos but is there a place to stop? Well it won't stop any time soon. Cell phone companies are now fighting over bandwidth on cellphones. geekBlue had an article about an EV-DO phone coming out. Along with the higher quality faster networks there will be a higher cost in monthly charges as well. I'm sorry for the soapbox speech but sometimes it seems like the phone companies fight the wrong battles. They need to improve on the quality of phones instead of just pushing as many features as possible. Lower phones prices and monthly payments should be on their top agenda. Oh well, why should I even care.. I use Nextel. ;-) The article below is from thegadgetbox and it was one I read that had some new news about foreign phones. The first article I read today that got me on my tangent. ""Swedish-Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson on Tuesday unveiled four new phones, including two that pioneer autofocus cameras and one with a Walkman-branded portable music player." The "Walkman" model will have about 500Meg of memory for storing music, good quality headphones, and a two-megapixel camera. It will also be one of the first phones in the world to feature an autofocus lens. It will start selling in mid-2005." [via thegadgetbox] |
