![]() |
More in Google news today. Google has announced today that their Google Mini will have twice as much search capacity than before. There will also be a price drop so more businesses will be able to use it. Google released the Mini in Jan. and is now trying to push it into the server market. The Google Mini can now search up to 100,000 documents and works with over 220 different file formats, including HTML, PDF and Microsoft Office, according to a statement released by Google today. "Content is dramatically increasing everywhere and it's no longer limited to documents, spreadsheets and presentations," said Dave Girouard, general manager of Google's enterprise business. "With more web pages, weblogs, wikis and other content, businesses of every size are having a hard time keeping track of it all. With Google, you can help your customers and employees quickly find the information they need," he added. The Google Mini is an integrated hardware/software search appliance that indexes all content within a company's intranet or public website. After an installation process that takes a few hours, users can search for information just as they do with Google.com. [via finfacts] |
