MS Developer Blog Releases Some IE7 Features
![]() |
On Friday, a member of Internet Explorer's development team posted details on the next version of Internet Explorer 7, which included much-desired features such as W3C recommendations for handling PNG graphics, as well as the CSS(cascading style sheet) standard. In reference to the PNGs, lead program manager Chris Wilson said "We have certainly heard the clear feedback from the web design community. Our first and most important goal with our CSS support is to remove the major inconsistencies so that web developers have a consistent set of functionality on which they can rely." While most of the scrutiny on IE lately has been on security flaws, gaps in standards support and interoperability have also been complaints about the browser in the past. Other improvements in the pipeline for IE7 include tabbed browsing and support for internationalized domain names. We will keep you up to date as the development process continues, and look forward to what is coming out of the IE development group.[Contributed by GeekCoffee] |
