Lowrance iWay 500C
![]() |
After looking at lower end GPS systems we found a high end one with MP3 capabilities. This unit from Lowrance is a whopper to say the least. It isn't one you want to lug around a lot but the usability is out of this world. It weight in at about 2 pounds and has a very durable casing. A downfall is that the iWay doesn't have it's own battery but with as much power as this sucker drains the battery wouldn't be very long. The touch screen on this unit is very sensitive but the clarity can lack in some areas. It has 2D and 3D views that pack a ton of data onto the screen. It boasts a 20GB internal hard drive and about 10GB of preloaded maps and data. MP3 files can be transferred and saved by plugging in your computer to the device. MP3s and navigation can be done simultaneously. The antenna is amazingly sensitive and can track your direction with the slightest of movements. Overall the iWay is at the top of it's class but only if you are willing to pay the price. |
