Google Wallet Rumors Unfolding

There have been rumors that Google will be introducing an online payment service that is meant to compete directly with PayPal. Similarly to PayPal, Google Wallet would allow consumers to pay for purchases on websites by funding electronic-payment accounts from their credit cards or checking accounts. Google's direction makes sense because Froogle (Google's price engine website) is quite popular already, and Google could add links to accepting payment for products listed on Froogle, as well as making commission on sales. Google Wallet could prove to be very successful for Google. [via technologynewsetc.]
