Symbian Smartphones Get Hit By New Trojan
A Trojan that runs on Symbian SmartPhones running on Symbian Series 60 operating system has been discovered, F-Secure said. The Trojan is called Doomboot.A and isn't considered "a real threat" F-Secure said. It was first reported on July 1, 2005 and can destroy a phone, should you not rid it of the Trojan. Doomboot.A infects through Bluetooth by receiving a message on all Symbian phones 10-30ft and asks if the user wants to download a game. If "yes", then the user downloads the virus, and if "no", the phone will never turn on, again. "When the phone is switched off, it's not going to come back again," Ero Carrera, a researcher at the anti virus software firm F-Secure said. Besides getting the nasty Trojan, you'll also get Commwarrior.B, also uses Bluetooth to spread. Read the rest http://amcptwo.blogspot.com /2005/07/symbian-smartphones -get-hit-by-new.html" here
