Breaking News: Computer Virus Attacks Windows Platforms

Breaking News. Computer worms Zotob.A and Zotob.B affects machines running Windows platmforms. There is also a possibility that there is a mutation of a seperate virus that has exploited the systems. Trend Micro reports that the new worm is called worm_rbot.cbq. Many major companies have been affected by this virus and causes them to reboot repeatedly. The worm exploits a hole in the plug-and-play feature in Window OS. This virus surfaced only days after Microsoft sent out a critical fix with the Zotob worms.

"The latest virus drops a copy of itself into the Windows system folder as BOTZOR.EXE and modifies the system's host file in the infected user's computer to prevent the user from getting online assistance from anti-virus Web sites..." Stated by Trend Micro.
