Apple has upgraded its Power PC line with several new offerings for the professional market, including a "Quad" G5 machine. The G5 Dual comes in two versions: with a 2-gigahertz dual core processor and 160-gigabyte storage device for $1,999, and with a 2.3-gighertz dual-core processor and 250 gigabyte of storage for $2,499. Both computers offer 512 megabytes of SDRAM memory, which can be expanded up to 16 gigabytes. Apple said the G5 Quad will come with two 2.5-gigahertz dual-core processors, 250 gigabytes of hard-drive storage and, like the other Power Macs, 512 megabytes of memory that can be expanded up to 16 gigabytes. The G5 Quad will cost $3,299. [co-published with friend site GeekCoffee] |
