Google Reader
![]() |
| Google's newest creation from their labs is Google Reader, which is a barebones RSS reader. Google Reader has the Gmail look and feel to it, but no where near the speed and ease of use. When you subscribe to a feed, it is placed on your homepage along with your other feeds, but only titles of the feeds are shown. You must click on a second link to find titles of recent posts, but there are no excerpts of the posts. To actually read the content of a post, you must click on a third link. Now this may not sound like such a big deal, but it seems like every time I click on something, the loading dialog comes up, and takes a full five seconds to go away. I think they released Google Reader a little too early, as it needs a little cleaning up, especially if they want to compete in the RSS market. |
