Cingular Headlines RIM's New Blackberry 8700c

The launch of RIM's new Blackberry device this morning was done through Cingular, not Verizon as was previously thought. The Blackberry 8700c is the first Blackberry to use an Intel PXA-900 series processor, part of the "Hermon" platform.

The PXA-901 is clocked at 312MHz, and the device comes complete with EDGE capability on the Cingular network. The 8700c is a quad-band GSM phone, operating at 850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz bands, enabling the device as a world phone.

The Blackberry 8700c will officially be sold in the US through Cingular Wireless retail stores on November 21. [Read full article here]
