Linksys WIP300 VoIP Handset
![]() |
A WiFi pone designed to work at home, the office, or anywhere you can find a WiFi hotspot in public, the Linksys WIP300 VoIP Handset [available for preorder] is designed to make low-cost internet phone calls a more versatile option. (You may have seen this mentioned a little while back at Reg Hardware, where we saw it, and engadget previously mentioned its availability for presale.) While the phone is not designed to work with Skype, it is equipped with the SIP protocol that will work with Vonage (for example). The highlighted specs include access to any 802.11b/g Wi-Fi network, a POP email functionality, and a 1.8” color display. Plus, it looks and feels like a biggish cell phone, as opposed to a wireless home phone, making the mobility it promises a bit more of a reality. Via |
