Venzero 8GB USB Microdrive: Mobile Desktop

draft_383_big.jpg

This Venzero 8GB USB microdrive is billed as the "Lifesaver" and is being excitedly marketed as a system crash panacea, guarding you against viruses and unanticipated OS breakdowns. It backs up files. But what is interesting about the device is the mobile desktop functionality, which allows you to take browsers and programs on the road with you in a 24" x 14" x 4" unit. (As a Camino user who cannot stand defaulting to Safari at my sister's house, I can get behind this.) Regardless of what operating system the host computer runs on, you can use your preferred programs, browser, email client, and files via a totally separate menu. Better still, since nothing is installed on the host computer, you leave no trace of having been there. Via
