GPS-CS1: Geotagging for Sony Cameras
|
I always scoff at the idea of geotagging images until I'm reminded of a month-long trip to Spain I took a few years ago. I actually still have unprocessed film from that trip; useless memories bred of the realization that recognizing the exact point at which Madrid gave way to Bilbao was almost immediately futile. If you're a Sony digital camera (or camcorder) user, this GPS-CS1 [Sony press release] could save you the annoyance of those kinds of lost memories. The device allows you to log data during image capture, later loading both the data (via USB) and your images through the GPS Image Tracker software, which syncs the images with latitude, longitude, and time readings. At 3.5" and two ounces, the device is mobile and can easily be attached to a bag or your belt. (Look for it from Sony next month.) Via |
